World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated on April 2nd every year. The Theme, for this year 2021 is “Inclusion in the workplace. Challenges and opportunities in a post pandemic world” In the DEIC, Institute of Social Paediatrics, Govt. Stanley Hospital, weeklong activities for children with autism were conducted.

           

On April 2nd, as the final event, World Autism Awareness Day was celebrated. The Dean, Govt. Stanley Hospital, RMO and The Director, Institute of Social Paediatrics, Govt. Stanley Hospital distributed the prizes for the winners and participants of the events.

           

Parents of children with autism shared their experiences on how the different therapies offered at the DEIC helped their children to become near normal on par with other children.

           

The doctors and therapists added that if identified early within two years of age and intervened consistently remarkable improvement can be achieved in these children. The Dean appreciated the efforts of parents who bring their children regularly.
